Computerised Rostering sparks concern

Technical staff in Studios at Osterley have been voicing their concerns over the projected introduction of an electronic rostering system for the department. Given the historic lack of transparency by Sky over conditions of service, members believe unacceptable ground rules could be written into the system without the prior agreement or consultation with staff.

' As Sky is maturing into a more responsible employer, what is needed is a clear indication of our individual conditions of employment ' said one member. 'Without agreeing the rules, how can we maintain the present flexibility and goodwill from staff that helps the department operate? It's important that the company & staff are in full agreement as to the details before the system is fully implemented.'
