Bullying and harassment at work
Greg Dyke’s admission that many
of those with power in the BBC might be great programme makers
but lousy managers (“Bafta Bastards” he called them!)
struck a chord across the broadcasting industry. This is not just
an issue for the BBC, but for for many companies in broadcasting.
Bullying is becoming an increasingly prominent workplace issue.
Holiday entitlements
for freelance workers
Under UK law holiday entitlement now
extends to freelances. In line with all British workers, freelances
now accrue holiday rights from day one on every contract. This
legal entitlement, which dates from 25 October 2001, was the direct
result of successful legal action taken by BECTU in the European
Court.
